How your personal training business is perceived by the customer, is what determines the amount you will be able to charge the customer. How you set up your marketing campaigns can have a profound effect on your success.

Some person training business owners and trainers who are incredible at helping people get into shape, yet they do not portray this in their marketing or set themselves aside from their competition, so they are only able to charge industry standard fees. However, there are other personal trainers who are not even as good, but place themselves as the go-to person in their area, and these people are able to charge the maximum amount.

Your customer’s out look of how valued your service is, will, in the long run, determine what they’re willing to pay.

How do you make this perception or understanding better? How do you market your personal training business?

Well, there are a couple of ways, and one is to pull value right out of thin air.

I wanted to be more in control in my area a few years ago and be able to charge the ultimate rates. So here’s what I did…

I went and found a few hot bikini models out on the beach and I told them I would develop them and train them for nothing, if they would let me use their pictures with some written testimonials in my marketing campaign.

Before you know it I am known as the guy who gets people into the shape of their dreams. People who see me training these beautiful, model women instantly think if, “If he is training them, he can train me.”

Nothing really changed about my service in the least, but because I was placed into the category as the guy who got women into incredible shape, and because this caused a outbreak in the way my people saw me, I was able to do boost my rates up to double the price and became someone that people demanded to train them.

Another powerful personal trainer marketing technique is to come up with a title that is unique; something that nobody else offers. This, in turn tells people that you offer something that nobody else is willing to offer. Or, you can create a name for your workout program that grabs people’s attention.

Make sure people see you and hear that you are the Personal Fitness Trainer expert of the area. Not that you will automatically get people to trust that this is who you are, but that they wont question it at first..

A huge thing to give you gold-start points is if you have ever worked with someone famous then use their pictures and testimonies in your advertising of your company. Making yourself look good by letting the public know of any awards and anything that you might have had published in a magazine, book, etc. Use these things as tools to advertise.

The point being is that there are a lot of different ways to market your training business and place your self in good standing and high demand in your industry and area. These things I have mentioned above just gives you credibility and makes the public, potential customers, become more interested in coming to you, even though it doesn’t increase your product value; It increases the amount customers you will eventually have.

What your customer thinks and feels about the service you provide is more important than the service in itself and will, in the end, illustrate how much you’ll be able to charge and how much money you will be making.

You need be good at getting people into shape, but just as importantly you need to be good at marketing your personal training business, because if you’re not, you’ll have no one to train.
